On board the Nucleus Express, Ray hides in Olive’s suitcase.
But he is discovered by Copper, the third occupant of cubicle 21.
Frightened, Copper hurried to raise the alarm.
This will lead the train to stack its carriages, and form a karyotype after a scan showing the skeletons of the passengers.
These are chromosomes.
Ray is ejected by the security system, taking Copper with him despite himself. The two chromosomes find themselves lost in the immensity of a canyon. The train begins to malfunction and falls towards the end of the canyon.
A huge creature appears behind the chromosomes, and Copper flees, leaving Ray to face the danger alone.
Ray ignores his fear and discovers that the creature is in no way dangerous. She agrees to help Ray and invites him on her back.
Ray flies to the train, rescues Copper on the way, and together they manage to get back on board in-extremis.
The train regains its magic and starts working properly again. The passengers are delighted.
Ray and Copper finish their journey together, sharing the same seat.
In the end, it turns out to be the story a mother tells her child, Ray, 6, to explain the origin of his Down’s syndrome.
