Are the moments we’ve shared and the memories we’ve accumulated with a loved one, as well as their legacy, enough to mourn them?

Paul, an adult in his thirties, is sitting quietly at the table. He takes a bottle of alcohol in his hand and clinks a glass, just like his grandfather André used to do.

That’s when he remembers how, as a child, he used to spend part of his summer holidays at his grandfather’s country house while his parents were away.

Despite her grandfather’s delight at having her by his side, they both go through an initial period of awkwardness, struggling to forge a real bond.

To combat boredom, Paul films every aspect of their daily lives.

At first distant and ungrateful, Paul gradually feels more at ease.

Over time, he gets to know his grandfather better and learns to appreciate the little gestures, until a certain complicity develops between the two of them.

Until the day Paul realises that he is genuinely enjoying his stay in the countryside with his grandfather, and that naturally his initial reservations have faded.

In the midst of these positive experiences, an incident suddenly occurs. While playing in his grandfather’s car, Paul accidentally disengaged the handbrake, damaging the car and angering his grandfather.

They must overcome this incident to restore their delicate relationship.

However, after improving their relationship, Paul’s stay with his grandfather is unexpectedly cut short when he dies of a heart attack while watching a football match with friends in a PMU bar…
