In a small village lit by a full moon, the inhabitants sleep peacefully.
Then luminous fish, the embodiment of dreams, emerge from the sleepers’ heads and swim towards the top of the village bell tower, where they disappear into the sky.
Sometimes nightmares upset the balance by contaminating dreams so that they become nightmares.
Nael, an old bearded man dressed in overalls, is the guardian of dreams.
Wielding his magic sceptre, he purifies nightmares and turns them back into dreams. He travels in a flying boat that lights up the passageway with a lantern hanging from the bow.
As Naël prepares to purify a nightmare in front of him, a luminous projectile purifies the nightmare into a dream. In a flash, Kyra, a young girl, lands suddenly in the boat, grabbing her work tool, a dream pistol.
She has a dishevelled bun, wears a headband around her head and wears mechanic’s glasses.
Naël is annoyed by Kyra’s unexpected arrival and feels overwhelmed by her boundless energy. His quiet habits are shaken by Kyra’s turbulent youth.
Suddenly, a nightmare challenges them, sparking a chase through the village streets. The nightmare sneaks into a bedroom. Inside, it returns to the sleeper’s head, contaminating the very source of the dreams.
The nightmares escape from the bedroom and contaminate the whole village, creating a tornado around the bell tower. Kyra and Naël risk everything to reach the heart of the storm.
Faced with the growing threat of nightmares flooding the village, Kyra takes the lead when she sees Nael lose all hope.
She takes hold of Nael’s magic sceptre and continues towards the bell tower, leaving Nael behind.
As she reached the top of the bell tower, Kyra came face to face with a huge red light cluster, representing the focus of her nightmares.
With determination, she pushed the sceptre into the core, but it resisted strongly, pushing Kyra back several times.
It was at this crucial moment that Naël stepped in.
He places his hands alongside Kyra’s on the sceptre. Their contact creates a connection between the generations, uniting Kyra’s intrepid youth with Nael’s wisdom.
Eventually, the red light in the nucleus begins to transform into a yellow glow, and an explosion of light invades the bell tower and then the village, purifying all the nightmares into dreams.
Kyra returns the sceptre to Nael, symbolising their shared success. They smile together as they contemplate the village, soothed by their efforts.
