For Skye and Bodric, chasing ghosts is child’s play… and a very lucrative scam.
But when they decide to go after their biggest target, their little scam turns into a real hunt.
Skye and Bodric are a pair of Scottish con artists, experts in the art of the con.
Their plan is simple and foolproof: Skye poses as a seasoned ghost hunter, roaming the lands of Edinburgh to ‘save’ its terrified inhabitants, while Bodric, her faithful dog, disguised as a spectre, acts as the ghost to be hunted.
Their next target is McDroch, a wealthy Scottish squire whose family comes from a long line of shepherds.
Everything goes according to plan, but their plan goes awry when they come face to face with a herd of phantom sheep, which are very real and particularly voracious.
Cornered, Skye and Bodric are forced to face up to the situation and do what they are supposed to be paid to do.
Armed with a shepherd’s crook and her faithful dog, Skye throws herself into a fierce battle with the sheep. Chaos ensues, and Skye is almost crushed by the debris caused by the battle.
In a heroic gesture, Bodric saves his mistress in extremis, but at the cost of his own life.
Just as Skye and McDroch are surrounded, a glimmer of hope appears: Bodric returns in the form of a ghost dog and manages to control the sheep, who become gentle as lambs.
Thanks to Bodric, Skye finds herself at the head of an army of ghosts. More determined than ever, she’s about to take her scams to the next level.
