The birth of Zip, a hyperactive Blob, upsets the peaceful life of a people devoted to laziness. To fit in, his only objective is to pass his people’s three tests.

A small, bucolic world, home to a people of soft, indolent creatures known as Blobs.

Their life is calm and peaceful, punctuated by a silence that is never disturbed. One day, their tranquillity is disrupted by the birth of Zip, a hyperactive Blob who is curious about everything.

For this energetic little creature, life is a constant source of exploration and fun, and his greatest desire is to be accepted despite his difference.

To achieve his goal, Zip has just one objective: to pass his people’s three tests.

The Blobs celebrate a solemn ceremony, a rite of passage where each member is given a seed.

On contact with an ‘accomplished’ blob, the seed begins to flower, symbolising its acceptance into the community.

Zip, who has been dreaming of this moment for as long as he can remember, has to meet three challenges set by Don, the village wise man.

The first is a culinary challenge in which the blobs have to make a burger again, the second is a water challenge and the third is a music challenge.

During these tests, Zip is unable to relax and his hyperactivity, which is usually his strength, proves to be his greatest obstacle.

Each of his challenges puts him to the test, and he can’t help but get restless, running around, reacting to the slightest thing.

The other Blobs watch his attempts with incomprehension, even annoyance.

After failing all three tests, Zip walked away from the group with a heavy heart, feeling that he had let his family down.

Just when all seems lost, he realises that the seeds, inert in the hands of the other Blobs, are beginning to bloom in an explosion of colour wherever he goes.

It’s his hyperactive nature that makes the seeds blossom. Zip, who thought his difference was a flaw, discovers in reality that it is a unique strength that is appreciated by his people.

His energy, curiosity and dynamism are just what the Blobs need.
