In the calanques, Bernard , a little hermit crab, is carried off by a seagull and decides to leave his precious shell to survive.
He stumbles onto a tourist beach and meets a deformed little crab called Morice, hiding under his bottle cap.
Bernard continued to move forward, wandering across the sand in search of a new shell.
For the moment, Morice is following him, hiding under his bottle cap.
It was at this point that Bernard discovered a magnificent white shell on the shore, the perfect shell for him, which he decided to go and find.
But then Bernard found himself in direct sunlight, and the fragile part of his body that is normally protected by a shell began to burn.
To help him with his research, Morice helps him protect himself from the sun by inviting him to hide under his cap with him.
Suddenly, the two friends are almost crushed by huge turbulence on the beach, which is in fact the natural tourist activity to be found at the water’s edge.
The two of them will have to escape the many dangers they face, trying to cross the beach by avoiding leftover objects and braving natural hazards such as a field of knives or an army of sea urchins.
And throughout this adventure, Bernard , who at first seems lonely and selfish, ends up befriending Morice.
He even ends up saving him when a human catches him and puts him in a bucket.
In the end, both crustaceans make it out alive, and Bernard decides to give up his ego for his new friend.
