Excited, Finn Fails travels to his grandmother Fionna ‘s house in the Scottish Highlands, certain that he will receive a video games console for his fourteenth birthday.

But Grandma Fails has a completely different surprise in store for him: a visit to a cave full of jars.

Despite his grandmother’s warning, he shakes one of the jars, leading them on an unexpected adventure.

Together they make their way through various rooms, taking on all the challenges presented to them, which are eerily similar to the games Finn used to play as a child.

Grandma, who loves adventure, is eager to overcome all the obstacles and he, amazed by the games, happily follows her.

Reality soon catches up with him as he realises that his grandmother is not the same person she was when she was younger.

The further they progress, the more Finn’s will to continue playing deteriorates until events put Fionna in mortal danger.

After losing his temper with her and her recklessness, the two of them walk dejectedly towards the last room where they are to play a melody together.

Fionna’s humming brings back a memory and Finn realises what his grandmother had wanted to share with him all along.

They play the melody together and emerge from the cave, reunited.
