In a dark alleyway, a skinny rat is forced to fight a pigeon for another piece of pizza.
Frightened by a homeless man rummaging through a skip, a rat escapes through the gutter with a slice of pizza it had found earlier.
He climbs up the building to enjoy it in peace on the roof, but is immediately attacked by a hungry pigeon that tries to steal his meal.
A merciless battle ensues, with a frantic chase along the façade, each trying to grab the food.
When they reach a cul-de-sac, they witness the excesses of its inhabitants.
The fight intensified and, after a final violent attack, the two animals dropped their remaining crumbs, which fell back into the skip.
Exhausted, they fell heavily to the floor of the alley.
Coming to their senses, they continue to fight and run towards the bin, each wanting to get what’s left of the pizza before the other.
While they are still fighting, a cigarette butt falls into the skip, setting it alight.
Suddenly transfixed, they watch in disbelief as their treasure goes up in smoke.
The homeless man, who had witnessed the whole thing, approached them, reached into his pocket and pulled out a mouldy sandwich.
He cuts it into three equal parts and shares it with them.
