After their village is attacked by strange creatures, the two onions, Cal and Vidalia, are the only survivors.
They have just one goal: to find the vegetables that have disappeared!
They enter a dark forest and find the villagers being carried away in carts pulled by mushroom monsters. One of them attacks the onions and wounds Cal with a claw to the body.
Cal and Vidalia manage to escape and take cover in a gap.
Cal, who is injured, discovers that the gash caused by the fungus is infected and that the disease is spreading rapidly.
The onions continue their journey through the rift. At the end of it, they discover a huge lair where many villagers are being held prisoner.
A steaming orange liquid boils in holes in the ground. It is pumped up by huge roots.
In this liquid are various dismembered vegetable bodies. A huge root emerges and approaches a trapped villager.
She decapitates him, then throws his body into the bubbling liquid. The roots around the onions begin to move, revealing the orange eye of a huge creature.
She quickly grabs the onions with her roots and brings them up to her face, revealing a huge pumpkin.
The root holding Cal back heads towards the soup. Cal’s infection spreads to the root and the pumpkin throws him away from the soup.
It cuts the root, which ends up covering itself with the infection as it falls to the ground.
The pumpkin’s attention was focused on Vidalia and she was about to devour him.
Cal sacrifices himself by throwing himself into the soup. The infection immediately spreads to the surface of the soup and infects the Pumpkin, who lets go of Vidalia.
The onion stood up and discovered his brother’s shoulder pad floating in the liquid.
The disease spreads to all the roots, killing the trapped villagers. Vidalia pulls herself together and frees a villager with a blow from her axe.
They both run away. A root falls from the ceiling and infects Vidalia’s hand. Vidalia cuts her arm. The frightened villager flees.
Vidalia, alone, looks towards the lair, devastated.
