The final year Montpellier students of the CG Animation & FX Master Degree received three members of the Electric Theater Collective (ETC) with whom they were able to exchange information about the studio’s projects and behind-the-scenes of a scene creation.

We have received some exciting news: SIGGRAPH has just released the list of films selected for its 2023 edition, and ESMA is proud to have three student films among them! This is a record never before achieved in the history of our animation film school.

The Guardians of the Galaxy team made its return to the silver screen in a third “volume” on May 3. Three of our former students (Antoine Tomasi, Louise Chassain, Timothé Ballan) took part in this new adventure.

Corentin Philippe, a former ESMA student in 3D Animation and Special Effetcs, took part in workshops in Nantes for second and third year students. The aime was to learn more about grooming techniques and follow up on current projects.

Expected by generations of fans, the most famous plumber in the world is back in a new movie: Super Mario Bros. This project is a collaboration between the Japanese Nintendo and the French studio Illumination MacGuff. Several of our former students are credited in the credits of this fantastic project!

The 4th feature film of the French studio TAT Prod is in theaters since January 25, it is the film Pattie et la colère de Poséidon. Over the years, the Toulouse-based studio has made a name for itself in the French and even international audiovisual landscape! Many of our former students have joined its ranks and several have participated in this new adventure.

The VES Awards, the equivalent of the Oscars for the special effects community, has released its list of nominees. Among the artistic talents distinguished, Lucie Martinetto who is selected in the category “Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature” for her work on the pig of the film Slumberland. Verdict February 15!
