Lucky, a sea turtle, is born at dawn on a black sandy beach in Indonesia, on the edge of the forest. As she emerges from the forest, she begins her journey to the ocean below to join her fellow turtles. But will she manage to reach the ocean safely?
It was then that she witnessed a macabre spectacle.
Baby turtles, ahead of her, far down the beach, being eaten, beheaded and carried off by birds.
She set off again at full speed, tumbling down a sand dune, only to be caught by a bird that swept her up into the air. The birds fight to catch her, but she ends up falling. She finds herself in a hostile new environment, in the middle of a pile of volcanic rocks, forming a canyon around her with no way forward.
Lucky continues to move towards the sea, but a tension is felt in the canyon, as well as a presence. Just then, a crab comes up behind her, grabs her and cuts off the end of her right flipper. She struggles to free herself from its grip, and starts running again as fast as she can, slaloming between the rocks and various obstacles on her way through the narrow, dark canyon.
The crab gets closer and closer, as they finally emerge from the canyon, and daylight appears again. The crab goes to catch it, but a komodo dragon comes at full speed, catches the crab and devours it, accompanied by a second komodo dragon, which comes to try and steal its prey.
Lucky, stunned by the scene, turns and runs to hide in a hollow, dead tree trunk on the beach by the water. The komodo dragons soon swoop down on her, destroying the trunk with their heads and fangs. Lucky finally manages to get away, but one of the two komodos rushes towards her to devour her, before being pushed aside by the other komodo dragon. The two predators face each other, trying to establish dominance over each other by roaring, and begin a terrifying struggle.
Lucky found herself between their legs and tails, avoiding them as best she could, while above her the two titans were engaged in an extremely violent battle, snarling and roaring with rage.
Lucky is running non-stop, and just as the battle between the two Komodo dragons is coming to an end, a wave crashes over her and sweeps her into the ocean.
A whole new world opened up for her. Coral reefs, all sorts of colourful fish, and the whole ocean.
She takes a moment to enjoy the calm, then resumes her epic journey, swimming towards the seemingly infinite blue horizon.
Accompanied by a few of her friends who, like her, have managed to reach the ocean.
