In 1615, in the forests of the Basque Country, Elaia, Hannae and Lekora gather to celebrate the summer solstice. The evening begins with laughter and a spellbinding dance around a campfire. But their joy is abruptly interrupted by the sound of a gunshot in the distance, deep in the forest.
Suddenly, Elaia finds herself on the ground, frightened by a menacing figure that stirs up buried traumas and fears. Her friend Hannae tries to defend her and steps between the figure and Elaia to protect her.

As tensions mount, Elaia realises that her jealous and possessive husband is the source of this danger. The barrier Hannae had been trying to put up between the husband and Elaia does not last. Hannae eventually gets hit by a flaming torch, rendering her incapable of causing any further harm.
With Hannae out of action, Elaia has no choice but to face a heart-wrenching decision: to flee with Lekora or return to her husband. Against her better judgement, she decides to flee to save her own life. But as they flee, Elaia and Lekora are overtaken by her husband’s violence, and the sound of a gunshot finally brings them to a halt. Lekora is hit and collapses to the ground. Devastated, Elaia crouches down beside her and asks for one last piece of advice: “What should I do?”, but it is too late, and Lekora slips away.
The night takes a tragic turn, but Elaia continues to flee in the hope of saving herself. Without the help of her friends, Elaia is forced to face her own demons and is caught by her husband.
In a final act of courage, she must choose between submitting to her husband or fighting for her freedom. She ultimately chooses her freedom by throwing herself into the water.
In the wake of that tragic night, the husband decided to take revenge by sentencing his two friends, Hannae and Lekora, to death…
