In an American residential area in the 90s, lives a 10-year-old girl with a tilted head. It’s early in the morning, the alarm goes off and it’s already time for Reven to get up and get ready for her first day back at school. She goes about her morning routine in her twisted house, built by her parents in her image.
She ticks the day’s box on her calendar in preparation for the class photo. She gets ready, says goodbye to her parents and heads into the neighbourhood to meet her best friend Debrah for school.

On the first day of school, the two friends meet their new teacher, Mr Conrad. As the days go by, Reven endures a succession of misadventures at school under the strict eye of Mr. Conrad. Her classmates laugh as much as she does, but the new teacher is not at all pleased.
Enraged by her lack of adaptation, her clumsiness and, above all, by the mess she created, Mr Conrad referred the problem to the girl’s parents. At a meeting, he suggested sending her to a specialist centre and handed them a flyer. When she got home, Reven went into her bedroom with her friend Debrah to warn her and ask for her help: the next day’s school photo had to be perfect to prove to her parents that she was capable of adapting.
Reven, outraged, agrees. Together, they tinkered with a helmet which, with the help of a crank, gradually straightened Reven’s head. His progress, though rapid, is accompanied by great suffering.
Debrah, seeing her friend suffering, refuses to push the experiment any further. Reven insists, an argument breaks out and Debrah decides to go home. Once alone, the little cripple continued to tighten her helmet until it jammed. With her head now straight, she could no longer recognise anything around her in her bedroom. Reven panicked, struggled violently and then lost consciousness.

It’s the next day, the helmet is in the bin and seems to show that Reven abandoned her original idea after the incident. She goes to school looking sad and frustrated.
It’s time for the class photo and the teacher asks everyone to stand up straight. Reven sat down next to her classmates, trying hard to stand up straight but failing. Suddenly, her friend Debrah held her hand and tilted her head to one side. Then all her friends started to do the same. The photographer uses his camera to compensate for the remaining angle, letting Mr. Conrad, head erect, step out of the frame.
