At the gates of a city, an army sets out. Selene, a soldier, goes to speak to her father, Magnus, the general. He replies coldly. She returns to the ranks. Magnus joins the procession.
The army arrives at a bridge and charges. The battle with the other army rages on. At the rear, the king feels for Magnus. A sound echoes across the bridge.
In the chaos, tentacles emerge from the abyss and sweep the soldiers away. Sélène yells to inform the captains. A soldier tries to warn them.
The captains move into formation, spears forward. An allied captain skewers the soldier.
In the midst of the massacre, Sélène climbs a column on the bridge. At the bottom of the abyss, she sees an immense creature. Undaunted, she calls out to her father. Sélène sees a tentacle wrap itself around her. She provokes Magnus and drops her sword. The tentacle pulls her violently.
Magnus rushes to save his daughter. Magnus catches up with Selene. He cuts the tentacle around Selene and pulls her onto the deck. Magnus is wounded by a tentacle, but manages to pierce it. The creature screams and starts to climb back up. The creature ravages the bridge with its tongue, killing all the captains and soldiers in its path. The general carrying his daughter manages to survive.
The creature leaves. Magnus discovers that Selene is dead. An enemy captain attacks Magnus. Under orders from the king, Magnus takes one last look at his daughter and is skewered by a captain.
