Directeur Artistique, Delapost

THE MISSIONS OF THE CG GENERALIST

Let it be reminded that CG includes all the techniques used to record visual information in “three dimensions”.

The use of CG offers many benefits: realism, emotions, capturing attention, transmitting information… And the generalist can “play” with each of these possibilities through his versatility.

The CG generalist and CG real-time generalist are a bit of a chameleons. One day artists, technician the other day, they are able to work in very different positions, while showing perfect mastery on each task : drawing, animation, rendering, FX…

Thus, he exercises his talents in different occupations to which he can be associated: multimedia graphic designer, CG graphic designer, model maker, CG designer, webdesigner, graphic designer…

He is a truly multi-talented professional !

HIS KNOW-HOW, HIS SKILLS

Endowed with an excellent ability to adapt, the CG generalist brilliantly juggles between his different fields of expertise.

Above all, he must be an expert in computer graphics and specialized software.
He is a creative with a strong artistic sensibility. Mindful, he needs to keep abreast of the technical evolution of computers and software, in order to adapt quickly to the new tools on the market.

Nevertheless, he often has a field of predilection, which gives him the opportunity to specialize later in his professional career. His skills may be called upon for the creation of a video game or an audiovisual production, but also for communication projects (CG logo, modeling…), or CG presentations (models…).

CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

This versatile profile often appeals to small and medium-sized companies, which can then rely on him for a wide range of tasks.

The CG generalist can also choose to work as a freelancer, which would allow him to build on his versatility, a real asset especially when it comes to winning new contracts.

In a digital agency (web) the generalist can expect a salary between 2750 and 3300€.

In a design agency, he can earn between 2200 and 3000€. In a creative studio, his salary can reach 3600€ for a senior (1900€ for a junior graphic designer). In an advertising agency his salary is between 2350 and 3000 euros.
